업무내용

SUNY Korea was established in March 2012 as the first American university system in Incheon, South Korea. In 2012, Stony Brook University (SBU), which is a prestigious university that represents the SUNY system, began to offer programs in South Korea as part of the Ministry of Education’s decision to serve the transnational needs for quality and global education. In 2017, Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), a world-leading fashion school, joined the cause to offer its renowned programs at SUNY Korea.

Currently, SUNY Korea offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Technological Systems Management, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Business Management, and Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University (SBU) and associate programs in Fashion Design and Fashion Business Management from Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Students of SUNY Korea can expect to experience authentic American higher education, and they can choose to take courses in both South Korea and the U.S.

[Position Summary]
SUNY Korea is seeking a talented new team leader to join the Career Development Center, Student Affairs. In this position, an employee performs a wide variety of duties related to student employment/success support, career counseling, corporate relations, and other tasks that are required. This is a one-year contract that can be renewed with satisfactory performance. The possibility of converting or extending the contract will be determined based on job performance and competencies.

[Responsibilities]
• Operate and manage the Career Development Center
• Host 6 to 8 career events per semester, inviting guest speakers, alumni, and business professionals
• Search for and solicit internship and job opportunities from companies across diverse fields and promote these opportunities to students, including credit-bearing internships
• Offer career consulting services to all students with a focus on year four, assisting them in searching for and applying for suitable internship and job positions, editing their resumes and cover letters, and conducting mock job interviews.
• Track and manage the employment status of graduates and report to the Ministry of Education (twice a year)
• Proactive partnership with companies and institutions in the Incheon and Seoul area to provide valuable career opportunities to students
• Work closely with the Admissions and External Relations teams to promote successful stories of our alumni to outside of the university
• Cooperate with other IGC universities to organize large-scale events.

필수요건

[Requirements]
Must
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business, or a closely related field
• Excellent communication skills in English and Korean
• Valid driver’s license

우대사항

Plus
• Relevant industry experience (Human Resources/Business/Career services, etc.) is preferred
• Firsthand knowledge of career placement and progression in Engineering or Fashion industries
• Career counseling experience (preferably with university students/recent graduates)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• High standard of professional integrity expected
• Knowledge of acceptable advising techniques for a diverse student body
• Understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
